I can't actually tell the future, but BIG THINGS have been happening! So much to share, its hard to know where to begin...
-The end of the school year brought some really exciting passion projects that I could talk about for hours (Please, ask me about them sometime! They were kind of life changing): Playing "Narrator" in Fly By Night directed by the wonderful Brooke Viegut; Movement Directing and starring in Wolf Spider written by Harrison Farmer for Envisage Play Festival; Questioning gender, sexuality, identity, and more through Shakespeare's breeches roles in a project called /Pants/, birthing and binding and freeing and sharing my Senior MT Cabaret under the incredible mentoring of Ron McGowen and Lara Teeter, Choreographing for StL Vocal Arts Institute (for the second summer in a row), and investigating the text of Susan Glaspell's The Outside with The Larks for our Summer Salon. The collaborative work and honing of my voice as an artist was fulfilling, inspiring, and motivating as I finished out the year!
-I graduated college! There are University and Departmental honors plus some Magna Cum Laude action on this gal's BFA. I am very proud to be an Alumna of Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts and SO grateful for the last four years and everything they were for me. My gratitude for the faculty and program is immense. My love and pride for every artist I was blessed to know and learn from can't be put in words. I know that I will continue to learn from the living and thriving spirit of Webco Artists past, present, and future as I move on to my next adventures!
-I am thrilled to announce that I signed with Bloc Agency NYC and will be moving to the city after my summer work ends!! I'm oh so very excited to join the Bloc Family and start my post grad journey in the Big Apple! Check out how awesome they are and see my little face on their website here: http://nyc.blocagency.com/talent/legit/mariah-studebaker
-Speaking of summer work! I have just begun one of my three contracts with Stages St Louis and am loving it! Right now, I'm playing "Private" the Penguin (and more!), in Madagascar! A Musical Adventure. We'll be movin' and groovin' from June 19th-July 1st! Then I will get to hang out with my dancing queens as "Lisa" in Mamma Mia!, which will run July 20th- August 19th. Then I'll finish out the summer in the good ol' plains of Oklahoma!, running September 7th- October 7th. If you're in the St Louis area, come join us for the fun! Here's a link for more info about Stages St Louis and how to get these hot tickets! http://www.stagesstlouis.org/Home/Shows/
Love and peace to you all!
